Promenade MRT Station (27 July 2017)
Promenade MRT Station (GPS: 1.29389, 103.86; CC4/DT15) is an underground mass rapid transit station of the
Singapore MRT. The station is located along
Temasek Avenue, near Millennia Walk shopping mall.
The Promenade MRT Station began operations on 17 April, 2010, serving the
Circle Line, which branches into two here. The main branch is between the
Esplanade MRT Station (CC3) and
Nicoll Highway MRT Station (CC5). The Marina Bay branch goes in a southwest direction and presently terminates at the
Marina Bay MRT Station, with expectation to terminate at
HarbourFront MRT Station in the future. On 22 December, 2013, the
Downtown Line began operations at this station, between the
Bugis MRT Station (DT14) and
Bayfront MRT Station (DT16).
At 43 meters underground, the Promenade MRT Station is the deepest station of the Singapore MRT, until the completion of the Bencoolen MRT Station, which will also be 43 meters underground.
The artwork at Promenade MRT Station is called "Dreams in a Social Cosmic Odyssey". It features shiny balls that look like droplets hanging from the ceiling.
