Pulau Sakeng, Singapore
Pulau Sakeng (GPS: 1.2081, 103.77788) is a former island located to the south of the Pulau Bukom group in
Singapore. The island was merged with Pulau Semakau to create the first and only landfill in Singapore.
Traditionally Pulau Sakeng supported a Chinese fishing village. The villagers were relocated to the
Bukit Merah and Telok Blangah housing estates when the government acquired the island for landfill redevelopment.
