Suntec City, SingaporeSuntec City, Singapore (28 July 2017)

Suntec City is a commercial development in the Marina Centre area of the Downtown Core Planning Area of Singapore. It comprises the Suntec City Mall, five office skyscrapers and the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Suntec City is located in Singapore Postal District 01.

The Suntec City Mall was the largest shopping mall in Singapore when it opened in 1995. Today it is the second biggest behind VivoCity. It has 888,000 square feet of retail space and houses some 360 retail outlets within its L-shaped configuration. The mall is divided into four zones namely:

  • The Suntec Galleria, which is on the ground floor of the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre, offering high-end international labels targeting convention delegates and tourists.
  • The Suntec Tropics, offering lifestyle merchandise and services for a wider spectrum of shoppers.
  • The Suntec Fountain Terrace, the food and beverage zone located around the Fountain of Wealth.
  • The Suntec Entertainment Centre, on the northeastern end of the mall, housing the cineplex, fitness centre and gaming arcade, among others. The first Carrefour outlet in Singapore is also located here, occupying 140,000 square feet of space.

Suntec City was designed by Tsao & McKown Architects. Its design pays special attention to the Chinese belief in feng shui or geomancy. The five high-rise office blocks are arranged to form the palm of a hand, at the centre of which is the Fountain of Wealth, designed to resemble a gold ring within the palm of the hand.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
