Tai Pei Buddhist Centre, Singapore (26 July, 2016)
Tai Pei Buddhist Centre (GPS: 1.30931, 103.86452) is a Buddhist non-profit organisation in Singapore. It is headquartered at 2 Lavender Street, in the Kallang Bahru subzone of Kallang. The organisation occupies a 5-storey building facing Kallang Road. It was set up with the purpose to teach Buddhism and to promote Buddhist activities in Singapore.
Tai Pei Buddhist Centre occupies the site of the former Kwang Fu Primary School. It was bought over by the Tai Pei Foundation in 1985, and renamed the Tai Pei Buddhist Centre. The present building was completed in 1994 and was officiated by Dr Lee Boon Yang, the Minister for Labour and Second Minister for Defense, on 14 May of that year. The building has a basement car park and a hall that can accommodate 600 people.
