Tangs Department Store, Singapore (27 July 2017)
TANGS (GPS: 1.30498, 103.83299) is an upscale department store along
Orchard Road. Located within Tang Plaza, it is at the junction of Orchard Road and
Scotts Road, across from
ION Orchard and
Shaw House on Orchard Road and Scotts Road respectively.
Tangs was founded by Tang Choon Keng in 1932 and was originally known after its namesake, C.K. Tang. The store is credited with helping Orchard Road become a major shopping location. It is housed over four levels and one basement floor in the podium block of Tangs Plaza, which also houses the Marriott Singapore. The building carries a Chinese motif in its green roof and pagoda-like hotel block.
Apart from the flagship store at Orchard Road, Tangs has also opened a store at VivoCity. It has also opened an outlet at the
Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
How to reach TANGS
By MRT
Take the
North-South Line of the Singapore MRT to the Orchard MRT Station (NS22) and use the underpass to reach Tangs.
