The Scarlet Hotel, Singapore

The Scarlet, SingaporeThe Scarlet, Singapore (1 August 2017)

The Scarlet is a boutique hotel located at the junction of Erskine Road and Ann Siang Road. It is located in the Chinatown neighbourhood of Outram, in Postal District 01. The Scarlet occupies a pre-war building that was built in 1924. The interior was renovated in the restoration, in a project which cost S$45 million.

The Scarlet opened to business in 2004. It has 80 guest rooms that are lavishly (and often garishly) decorated. The hotel offers five individually themed suites, each carrying equally snooty names - Lavish, Opulent, Passion, Splendor and Swank. Its a watering hole for people with money to flaunt and willingness to do it. Certainly, if you have the money, you are in for a unique experience.

The Scarlet Hotel has won numerous awards including Best Boutique Hotel (TTG Travel Awards 2008), Best Accommodation Experience (Singapore Tourism Awards 2008) and Best Boutique Hotels (2008 Singapore Tatler), among others.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
