The Tintin Shop is a specialty shop at 56 Pagoda Street in the Singapore Chinatown. The shop opened on 18 December, 2010. The opening was officiated by the Ambassador of Belgium in Singapore, Mr Roland van Remoortele.
The Tintin Shop, Singapore (11 July 2011)
The Tintin Shop is stocked with Tintin memorabilia. Apart from the Tintin comicbooks, fans of the boy hero can buy coffee mugs, t-shirts, model cars as well as dioramas re-creating scenes from the Adventures of Tintin. There are also key chains and stuff toys, the most adorable being Snowy, Tintin's pet (in the English version).
Fans of Tintin are mostly the "older generation" who discovered the comicbook character when they were going up. Nevertheless, with the upcoming motion picture, The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn, about to be released, Tintin is sure to receive a whole new generation of fans.
Take the North East Line to the Chinatown MRT Station (NE4) and then walk a short distance down Pagoda Street. The shop is on the left side of the street.
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
