Toa Payoh MRT Station (GPS: 1.33343, 103.84736; NS19) is a subway station of the Singapore MRT in Toa Payoh. The station is served by the North-South Line. It began operations on 7 November, 1987.
The Toa Payoh MRT Station was the first mass rapid transit station to be completed, with its topping up ceremony on 5 August, 1985, when it became the first subway station in the world to be installed with platform screen doors. It was also one of the first stations that went into operations with the Singapore MRT began running in 1987.
