Wah Kee Big Prawn Noodle, Beach Road (26 July 2017)
Wah Kee Big Prawn Noodle (GPS: 1.303273, 103.864492) is a shop specialising in noodle soup. At time of writing, there are already outlets throughout Singapore. The first one, I understand, is a hawker stall at Pek Kio Market and Food Centre off Owen Road. I learned that that stall dates back to 1951. The restaurant prides itself for using only wild caught prawns, and not farm reared ones. The second one is a restaurant at the Esplanade Mall in December, 2016.
The third and newest stall, I stumbled upon by accident. It was my first day in Singapore for my 2017 visit. After exploring the city on foot, by nightfall, I was getting hungry and decided to simply choose to have my meal at the nearest and most convenient food outlet within sight. And that turned out to be the Wah Kee Big Prawn Noodle restaurant on Beach Road.
I simply ordered the basic Prawn Noodle, which is S$5. After ordering, you are given a buzzer to return to the counter to collect your food when it is ready. There is a drinks counter, and a waiter would come along to take my order.
I chose the "fine" noodle. It turned out looking like very thin wanton noodle in a spicy soup. On the whole, I enjoyed it very much. Not too bad.

Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
