Solok Kebun Nyior, George Town, Penang (9 July 2022)
Solok Kebun Nyior, also written as
Solok Kebun Nyiur is the name for two separate country roads within the Dato Kramat neighbourhood of
George Town, Penang. This is one of three roads with the name "Kebun Nyior", the other two being Jalan Kebun Nyior and Lorong Kebun Nyior. They are remnants of paths over what was once a coconut plantation, and the roads bear the name which means "coconut garden".
Solok Kebun Nyior has two parts. One runs north south, connecting
Jalan Lim Khoon Huat in the north with
Dato Kramat Road in the south, while the other branches westward out from Perak Road. Housing development since the early 1970s has transformed what was once village houses into more permanent terrace residential houses.
