Boseong is a county in South Jeolla Province, South Korea. It covers 663.16 sq km (256 sq mi) and has a population of 62,000 (2011 estimate).
Boseong is perhaps best known throughout Korea for producing some of the finest green teas in the country. The green tea from Boseong is said to have been included in the dietary requirements of astronauts.
The county of Boseong was founded in 1397, during the reign of King Taejo. The initial settlement was destroyed during a Japanese invasion in the 16th century, and was rebuilt a few years later, during the reign of King Seonjo.
