Peradeniya Botanical Gardens (1 September, 2005)

The
Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, also called the
Royal Botanical Gardens of Peradeniya, is one of the best botanical gardens in Sri Lanka, and one of the most beautiful in Asia. It is just 6 km from Kandy, the second largest city in Sri Lanka.
The botanical gardens is huge, and although I walked briskly, I did not have enough time to fully explore it. Like most well-organised gardens, the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens have the plants grouped together.
One similarity which I found between Peradeniya and
Kew Gardens of London, is that both are located on a loop of a river, in the case of Peradeniya, it is the Mahaweli River while for Kew, it's the Thames.
