Sri Malai Muniswarar Temple (GPS: 5.43677, 100.29588) is a Hindu temple in Mount Erskine, Penang. It is today within the land of the Bodhi Heart Sanctuary. When the latter was being designed, Sri Malai Muniswarar Temple was already in its location. The new owners of the property decided to keep the temple in its place.

The Sri Malai Muniswarar Temple has since been renovated and upgraded. It has undergone at least two consecration ceremonies, or Maha Kumbabishegam. One was held on 30 August, 1993, when the older structure was officially opened by then Chief Minister, Dr Koh Tsu Koon, and the more recent one on 25 March 2012, with the official opening conducted by Chief Minister Mr Lim Guan Eng.

Getting there

The Sri Malai Muniswarar Temple is located far from any bus stops, and is best approached by private transport. You can enter from Mount Erskine Road via the road to the Cheah Kongsi Private Cemetery. The temple is adjacent to the Bodhi Heart Sanctuary.
