Sri Murugan Paribalana Avai Temple (29 January 2009)

The
Sri Murugan Paribalana Avai (GPS: 5.422840, 100.385957), also called the
Arulmigu Thirumurugan Koyil Paribalana Avai or
Arulmigu Sree Murugan Temple Paribalana Avai, is a Hindu temple in
Mak Mandin,
Butterworth. It is dedicated to the Hindu deity Murugan, a popular deity among the Tamils and South Indians. Murugan, also written Muruga and even Subramanian ("Subramanian" is different from "Subramaniam", although some people confused these two, and regard Murugan as Subramaniam), is the god of war and patron deity of Tamil Nadu. Among Malaysians, Murugan is best known as the Hindu deity for which Thaipusam is staged annually.
The Sri Murugan Paribalana Avai Temple conducts regular Bharathanatyam Indian classical dance classes. The trainer is Master Sri Balamurugan Kallappan Pillay, who graduated in Indian classical dances from Tanjoore in South India. Classes are given every Sunday from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm.
Updates
The street view of December 2014 showed that the temple has been demolished. I will update on whether it is undergoing rebuild as soon as I saw it again.
