Kampung Jawa Soyabean Stall (7 October 2019)


Kampung Jawa Soyabean Stall (GPS: 5.32695, 100.29415) is a hawker stall along Lorong Kampung Jawa in Bayan Baru, Penang. It sells soyamilk and soya bean curd. The stall has been operating here for over a decade. I used to patronize it when I was still working at the Bayan Lepas FIZ, but since leaving full time employment, I rarely return to this place.

Today, since there was no food at home, I came out to hunt for something for lunch, and ended up at Top Taste Restaurant on Lorong Kampung Jawa, where I had a passable char koay teow. After the lunch, I came out and saw the soyamilk stall. It's been so long since I last ate here, so I crossed the road and ordered a bowl of soya beancurd dessert or tau33hua1.

One bowl now costs RM1.40, while buying to go is RM1.90. The sweet beancurd was so delicious - it was fresh, hot and so smooth. This is how sweet beancurd should taste, and I enjoyed my after-lunch dessert very much.
