Some of the organic produce from the Green Acres Orchard, at Straits Quay Organic Food Farmer's Market (19 June 2016)
Straits Quay Organic Food Farmer's Market is a specialty market that is held at
Straits Quay on the evening of the third Sunday of every month, usually from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. It was started by Real Food Restaurant, which has its Penang outlet at the mall, with Straits Quay being the co-organiser.
The Straits Quay Organic Food Farmer's Market brings together local organic food producers under one food, to provide them an outlet for greater exposure, as well as an opportunity for the general public to know more about organic products, and where to get them. Initially, the market was created for producers of organic food products, but over time, it has expanded to also include non-food items either made using organic products or through recycled items.
