Jalan Assumption is one of the main roads in Butterworth. It was probably named after Sekolah Kebangsaan Assumption located on its southern end. As is so characteristic of so many roads in Butterworth, Jalan Assumption has a scruffy appearance, as though it is a village road, when in fact it is very near the heart of Butterworth.
The northern end of Jalan Assumption meets
Jalan New Ferry and
Jalan Chain Ferry in an intersection, continuing northwards as
Jalan Sungai Nyior. The southern part ends below the elevated portion of the Butterworth Outer Ring Road.
It is my expectation that Jalan Assumption will undergo massive redevelopment in the coming decade, with high-rise residential properties being planned to take over the existing kampung houses of the area. With that in mind, expect the listing below to undergo changes in the years to come, as the existing businesses and sights make way for development.

Getting there
There are no buses stopping at Jalan Assumption, so the only practical way to get there is by car. If you are coming from the Butterworth Ferry Terminal, turn right to Jalan Assumption at the first traffic lights after the Butterworth Maybank.
