My wife and I at Sukkah, with Eric Cheng, the F&B Manager, and Erwan, the senior supervisor. (14 November 2015)
It is such a joy to be invited to various restaurants and hotels. This week, it is the turn of Sukkah at Olive Tree Hotel to roll out the red carpet for us. They have the Grilled Seafood Buffet every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening, from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm, and they invited us over to give it a try. We arrived at sharp 6:30 pm and was immediately ushered to our reserved table. The F&B Manager, Eric Cheng, came to introduce himself. Throughout the evening, Eric, Erwan and two restaurant waiters Ai
Of course there's seafood galore. There's prawns, scallops, oysters, mussels and other shellfish, flowercrabs and more. And if you count the sushi and sashimi, salmon, tuna and unagi, not grilled but seafood too, right? And for people wanting local fare, there's curry fish and various Malaysian dishes (which, to be honest, I have no stomach to consume, because there's already too many other dishes to try!)
At the cold cuts section, there's various types of cheese for you to help yourself, and meats, and salads with various dressings. I love cheese, but my wife doesn't. Doesn't matter, there's lots of other things she likes to eat.
The buffet continues till 10:00 pm, but we couldn't possibly eat for so long. In fact, we were quite done by 8:30 pm (which, come to think of it, means already two hours of solid eating!) Needless to say, we were very full by the end of the meal, and am most thankful to Olive Tree Hotel for having invited us over.

About this website
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
