Sungai Dua Bak Kut Teh Fish Head Bee Hoon Stall is a stall in Sungai Dua, Penang. It operates within a corner house at the junction of Lintang Merak and the Jalan Sungai Dua service road. The operation is not a proper coffee shop (which gave me a bit of a hard time deciding under which category I should place it). It doesn't even have a business name. I learned from a friend later on that the stall is run by someone named Ah Seah.

My wife noticed it some time back and suggested we go there to try it, as we were trying to decide where to go for our dinner. We didn't even know it was selling bak kut teh and fish head bee hoon - my wife had thought it was selling Hokkien mee, until we arrived and saw what was selling. But considering we saw that it was doing quite good business, we decided to give it a try.

6 July, 2014: This is the first time we patronize this stall and we ordered the fish head bee hood. We found that the price is quite reasonable. For two bowls of fish head bee hoon and two glasses of sugar cane water, we paid RM13.00. That's how much we would have spent per person if we had gone for fast food. My wife liked the taste of fish head bee hoon, though I thought it was just "normal, nothing too special". That's because I like my food to have a stronger taste. Also, I don't find fish head bee hoon to be very filling (but on the positive side, I looked forward to have some ice cream as dessert when we got home).

Getting there

The Sungai Dua Bak Kut Teh Fish Head Bee Hoon Stall is visible from Jalan Sungai Dua. It has an "Open" sign to tell you when the stall is operating. That is quite visible even from far (see photo). Buses passes along Jalan Sungai Dua are Rapid Penang bus 303 and 304.
