Sungai Puyu Tua Pek Kong Temple

Sungai Puyu Tua Pek Kong Temple (29 January 2009)

Sungai Puyu Tua Pek Kong Temple, also called Hock Teik Soo, is a small temple in Taman Pandan Indah, Sungai Puyu. It is usually the case that each Chinese community has its own Tua Pek Kong temple, which acts as the village temple to safeguard the well-being of the Taoist living there.

The Sungai Puyu Tua Pek Kong Temple is a concrete structure with sloping roof ridges. The front plaque reachs Foo De Si in pinyin or Hock Teik Soo in Hokkien, a clear indication that it is the temple of the Taoist god of prosperity, Tua Pek Kong. The temple is just a short distance away from the Butterworth Outer Ring Road as well as from the Thai Buddhist Temple, Wat Photichareantham, which is located a short walking distance to its left.
