Sungai Relau, Penang (23 March 2013)
Sungai Relau is a river that flows through
Relau, Penang. It comprises two streams, Relau A and Relau B, which merge south of
Jalan Dato Ismail Hashim.
Sungai Relau B begins in the hills of
Paya Terubong. It is visible in parts such as near the
Metropolitan Park, where it flows beside
Relau Villa. Here the river separates the villa from the
Shrine of the Jade Emperor. A couple of pavilions are built for people to enjoy the scenery. From there, Sungai Relau flows south, in places following
Jalan Paya Terubong.

After merging with Sungai Relau A, the combined river continues south, curving to the east as it approaches
Jalan Tun Dr Awang. This section onwards is canalised. It follows
Jalan Mahsuri until the intersection with Persiaran Mahsuri, where it makes a sharp bend to continue south.
After passing under Jalan Tengah, Sungai Relau curves to the east, just behind Telekom. It then flows into
Sungai Ara, and from there the two rivers become
Sungai Keluang.
