The road in Sungai Rusa, Balik Pulau (16 February 2013)
Sungai Rusa is the name of a river in Balik Pulau as well as the Malay village that developed along it. The village of Sungai Rusa is located on the northwestern part of Balik Pulau, between
Sungai Pinang in the north and
Air Putih in the south. The main road from the Balik Pulau pekan to Sungai Pinang is likewise named Jalan Sungai Rusa.
The name means "deer river". There was supposed to be a deer farm in that area at one time.
Today, as with elsewhere in Balik Pulau, Sungai Rusa is beginning to experience development, particularly landed residential properties.
