Sunshine Central (GPS: 5.39852, 100.28689) is a mixed-use development in the Farlim township of Ayer Itam, Penang. It is located on Jalan Pisang Embun.
Developed by Crimson Omega Sdn Bhd, it comprises a 9-storey podium that will be anchored by the Sunshine Farlim Supermarket & Departmental Store, with space of shop outlets and f&b outlets, as well as a cineplex. Above the podium is a 30-level Sunshine Residence, 18-level office block and 18-level 320-room hotel.
Construction began in 2016. The development was expected to be completed in Q1 20231, but after much delays, was eventually open to the public on 11 October 2024.
There are two levels of basement floors with 3,500 parking bays. Sunshine Central incorporates a 320-room business-class hotel, 270 units of serviced apartments, and 144 units of small home offices. There will be a hypermarket, 412 retail units and a 320-room business-class hotel, among others. There is a total of 820,000 sq ft of nett lettable area, making it slightly smaller in lettable area compared to Gurney Plaza and Queensbay Mall.
