Our Homemade Talam Suji (29 October 2016)

This is the
Talam Suji that my wife made on 29 October, 2016. To be honest, I have never heard of this Nyonya kuih until a few days ago, when my wife announced that she was going to make it for the family gathering tonight. As the name suggests, Talam Suji as a layer of
semolina at the bottom, and a layer of brown sugar on top, and of course santan.
It is only in the last few years that I began to learn that every Nyonya kuih has its own name. And having just tasted Talam Suji, I can say that it is absolutely delicious. We are planning to include this in our "menu" when it is our turn to prepare morning refreshments for church on the coming Christmas Day.
The Talam Suji which my wife made today will be one of three items which we are bringing to the family gathering. The other two are the Jawa Mee and the Dragon Fruit Konnyaku Jelly.
