Teluk Awak, Penang (19 May 2012)
Teluk Awak is a small bay in the gulf of
Teluk Bahang, in the northwestern coast of Penang Island. The area has a single road, Jalan Teluk Awak, lined with village houses. The people here are mostly Malays who live here as fishermen. There are also a few Chinese families, particularly closer to the
Teluk Bahang Roundabout.
The Teluk Awak coastline has undergone some land reclamation, extending the land area seaward. Fishing boats berth at a wharf along the reclaimed tongue of land. Across the bay from Teluk Awak is the
Teluk Bahang Jetty.
