Teluk Bayu, Teluk Kumbar, Penang (10 October 2018)
Teluk Bayu (GPS: 5.27872, 100.24158) is a stretch of sandy beach in Sungai Batu, Penang. The beach is a nice place for a picnic, and is known mostly by the locals. It has a number of casuarina trees that provide a good shade. The beach of Teluk Bayu ends at a rocky promontory on the western end.
On the eastern end, the beach thins out and is replaced by dense forest that reaches almost to water's edge. About fifty meters from the beach is a man-made lake now known as Tasik Teluk Bayu. A few decades ago, this lake was created out of sand mining activities in the area. Now it has been abandoned. The lake is serene, and there are water liles growing on the surface.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
