Teluk Bayu, Teluk Kumbar, Penang (10 October 2018)
Teluk Bayu (GPS: 5.27872, 100.24158) is a stretch of sandy beach in
Sungai Batu, Penang. The beach is a nice place for a picnic, and is known mostly by the locals. It has a number of casuarina trees that provide a good shade. The beach of Teluk Bayu ends at a rocky promontory on the western end.
On the eastern end, the beach thins out and is replaced by dense forest that reaches almost to water's edge. About fifty meters from the beach is a man-made lake now known as Tasik Teluk Bayu. A few decades ago, this lake was created out of sand mining activities in the area. Now it has been abandoned. The lake is serene, and there are water liles growing on the surface.
Pak Tam Mee Udang
Pak Tam Mee Udang is now the main reason why many people go all the way to Teluk Bayu. Let me show you the mee udang here.
