There is good reason why Bangkok was once known as the Venice of the East. The city relied on its many canals, called
khlong, for transportation. Today although many of the canals have been filled in, there are still a number that are visible and in use. You can take ferry boats on these canals as a form of city transport.
- Khlong Bang Lamphu
