Dusit is a district of Bangkok. It is one of the fifty districts or khet of the metropolis. Dusit is the centre of the Thai government. This is where the national parliament of Thailand is located. It is also where the royal palace, the official residence of the King of Thailand in Bangkok, is located.

Dusit is located to the north of Rattanakosin. The main road linking them is Ratchadamnoen Road.

The district of Dusit was developed at the turn of the 20th century. King Chulalongkorn was instrumental in the development, to move away from the clutter of Rattanakosin, which was the original seat of government.

In 1900, the Vimanmek Palace was constructed. It was used only for a short time before being abandoned in 1908. Today it stands as a tourist attraction in Dusit, having undergone full reconstruction in 1992.

Not far from Vimanmek Palace is Chitralada Palace. Built by Rama VI, it is still being used today as the official residence of the King of Thailand. The wooded grounds shield the palace from public view.
