Henri Dunant Road (Thai: ถนน อังรีดูนังต์

) is a road in the Pathum Wan district of
Bangkok, Thailand. It starts at Rama VI Road, with the Red Cross Society to the left and Chulalongkorn Hospital to the right, and ends at Rama I Road, opposite
Wat Pathum Wanaram and
Siam Paragon.
Henri Dunant Road was named after
Jean-Henri Dunant, the Swiss businessman whose writings inspired the creation of the International Red Cross in 1863. Originally, Henri Dunant Road was called Thanon Sanam Ma, or Race Course Road, as it passed to the left of the Pathumwan Race Course of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club. Thailand became a member of the International Red Course in 1906 and the office was set up on Race Course Road.
In 1965, the Red Cross Society proposed that Race Course Road should be renamed in honor of Henri Dunant, in conjunction with the centennial anniversary of the International Red Cross. The Bangkok Municipality was in agreement, as the name Race Course Road does not bring about a wholesome appeal to the city. Hence on 3 May, 1965, Race Course Road was renamed Henri Dunant Road.
