Thian Fah Hospital, Bangkok


Thian Fah Hospital is a hospital established by the Chinese in the Chinatown of Bangkok. It operated by the Thian Fah Foundation. Also within the compound of the hospital is a highly elaborate Chinese temple dedicated to Kuan Im, the goddess of mercy. The temple has a portico supported by bright red pillars. The roof ridge curves upwards and embellished with dragons and other mystical beasts, created from porcelain.

Getting there

Take the Bangkok MRT to the Hua Lamphong Railway Station (HUA). Coming out of the station, cross Thanon Rama IV (Rama IV Road) and enter Mittaphap Thai-China Road. At the end of the road you will see Odean Gate, a Chinese-style gateway. Turn right into Yaowarat Road. The road forks into two. The left fork is Yaowarat Road, the right fork is Yaowarat 3 Road. Thian Fah Hospital is on Yaowarat Road, to your left.
