Going to Chiang Mai by plane is fairly easy, as there are a number of flights from Bangkok every day. You will arrive at the Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX) which is located on the southwest corner of the city. Chiang Mai Airport is just about 4km from the centre of Chiang Mai, and it takes roughly 10 minutes to cover the distance. You can hire a taxi, tuk tuk or songteaw to take you to Chiang Mai.
Arrival at Chiang Mai Airport
After retrieving your baggage, you can look for taxi, tuk tuk as well as tours from the Arrival Hall. If you book a taxi, the fare should be around 120 baht (the journey from city to airport will cost around 50 baht).
If you wish to pre-book your airport transfer online between Chiang Mai Airport and your hotel in the city, it costs US$11.11. You need to print out your travel voucher and present it to the driver.
