Wat Kitti (GPS: 18.78487, 98.98585; Thai: วัติกิตติ ) is the ruins of a Thai Buddhist monastery in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This monastery dates back to the time of the Mang Rai Dynasty. In 1870, the Viceroy of Inthanon ordered that the residential building of the newly deceased King Nawilorot Suriyawong be dismantled, and the material used to build the viharns (assembly halls) of Wat Kitti and Wat Saen Fang.
Wat Kitti was an operational monastery until 1946, when it was abandoned. Today, only its chedi. In 1981, the Ministry of Education built the Chiang Mai Kindergarten - known today as Anubaan Chiang Mai School (โรงเรียนอนุบาลเชียงใหม่ ).
At the time of my visit, Wat Kitti was still unrestored. It was just exposed bricks. Since then, restoration of the chedi has been carried out, and today it is gilded. The Fine Arts Department has registered the chedi as an archaeological site. To visit it, enter via entrance to the kindergarten on Ratchamanka Road.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
