Beautiful, pristine Ko Ngai in the Andaman Sea (11 May, 2014)
Ko Ngai เกาะไหง (GPS: 7.41557, 99.20375) is a small island in Krabi Province, Thailand. The island is also written in English as Koh Hai. It is within the amphoe or subdistrict of Ko Lanta but is usually reached by tourist boats from the pier at Pak Meng Beach in Trang Province.

My Visit to Ko Ngai
I visited Ko Ngai on 11 May, 2014, with my wife and colleagues on a company trip. We arrived there from Pak Meng Beach. On the journey to Ko Ngai, we stopped over to visit the Emerald Sea Cave on Ko Muk, then went swimming at Ko Kradan and Ko Chueak before finally arriving at Ko Ngai. There, we spent a night at the Koh Hai Fantasy Resort. I was curious about the name "Koh Hai", until later when I learned that it is simply another transliteration of เกาะไหง.
Ko Ngai was gorgeous on our arrival. We were lucky to arrive with blue skies above us. However it was a very hot day, but picture perfect, with the beach lined with coconut palms. There are individual as well as semi-detached chalets at Ko Ngai. They line the beach front and continues on a gradient up the hill slope. I had one of the semi-detached chalets on the hill. From there, I can get a nice view of the Andaman Sea below.
There is nothing much to do at Ko Ngai in the evening, so it is more for travelers looking for peaceful respite - those seeking vibrant nightlife would find the place rather dull. Nevertheless the resort suits me just fine. I like strolling along the beach as the sun sets, and sitting on the deckchairs watching the islets of the Trang coast at dusk.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
