Ping River, Chiang Mai (24 October, 2006)
Ping River (Thai: แม่น้ำปิง

) is a major river in
Thailand. It is the river that passes through the city of
Chiang Mai, forming the Ping Valley. Along with the Nan River, it is one of the two main tributaries of the
Chao Phraya River which flows through
Bangkok. Ping River meets Nan River at Nakhon Sawan to continue as the Chao Phraya.
The source of the Ping River is Khun Ping in Chiang Dao, Chiang Mai Province. The Ping River has a length of 658 km (409 miles).
