The Balloon Safari, 1st Avenue Mall (12 September 2014)


The Balloon Safari is a mini theme park at 1st Avenue Mall Penang. It runs from 12 September to 21 September. Patrons to 1st Avenue Mall enjoys free entry to the Balloon Safari when they spend a minimum of RM80 in a single receipt at any outlet of the mall, with redemption period until 14th September.

The Balloon Safari is a technicolour wonderland created entirely of balloons. It was put together to celebrate malaysia Day, in conjunction with a Merdeka Charity Drive benefiting the St Nicholas Home. Among the features of the theme park include palm trees, wild animals such as baboons, gibbons, rabbits and other creatures, all fashioned out of balloons.

Within a rectangular area, which is also walled with balloons, are thousands of brightly coloured ballons in white, pink, yellow, light blue, dark blue, purple and brown, among others. There are also a few larger balloon orbs. Hovering above the balloon square are beautiful balloon sunflowers. In addition to the thousands of balloons, there are also playthings such as slides, also made of balloons and inflatables.
