The Bungalow is a fine dining restaurant at Lone Pine Hotel in Batu Ferringhi. My wife and I visit it on occasion for its buffet lunch. What I like about the lunch buffet at the Bungalow is its good selection of seafood. Among the seafood available at the buffet here include abalone, white tuna, red tuna, smoked salmon, raw oyster, raw salmon, octopus and many other seafood.

In addition to the seafood, the buffet also has a nice spread of local dishes, with tomato rice and write rice, as well as cold cuts, roasted duck, satay, desserts and ice cream. Despite the large spread, it is really a small restaurant, and the air-conditioned area has only five tables. The rest of the tables are located in the open-air area.

Having been familiar with the buffet at The Bungalow, I usually head for the abalone when I go there. I like it more than the other seafood. It's one of the few things that I can eat on its own, without any dips. For the tuna and salmon sashimi, I usually take them with the Japanese soya sauce and wasabi.

Getting there

The Bungalow restaurant is located near the shore, within the compound of Lone Pine Batu Ferringhi. The hotel itself is located within Batu Ferringhi village. Nearest bus stop is served by Rapid Penang bus 101 and 102.
