Feed the Stray is a mural in George Town, Penang. It follows on the success of other street art that began with the steel-rod sculptures for Marking George Town and culminating with the murals by Ernest Zacharevic. The mural of a dog with its mouth open to receive meat was painted by artist Kenji Chai. According to Mr Chai, the dog is called chaigo, meaning stray in Chinese.
Kenji Chai painted this dog as he was born in the year of the dog. He drew his inspiration from a dog that died on the road and also from stray dogs that nobody wanted. So he is highlighting their plight through his murals. According to Mr Chai, the piece which I call "The Dog with Meat" is originally known as "Feed the Stray". He painted it on the wall so that the general public can interact with the mural. The "Feed the Stray" mural graces a wall across from the Bruce Lee Cat mural by 101 Lost Kittens.
Footnotes
15 February, 2015: Kenji Chai's murals graces U Hotel, a new hotel in Sungai Dua which opens for business on 16 February, 2015.

About this website
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
