The Light City, Gelugor (4 May 2023)


The Light City (GPS: 5.37117, 100.31502) is a mixed development in Gelugor, Penang. It is part of Phase 2 of The Light Waterfront Penang project being developed by IJM Group. Spanning 32.76 acres, The Light City accounts for 22% of The Light Waterfront Penang masterplan.

The Light City features the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre, Waterfront Shoppes, hotels, office tower and luxurious high-rise residences namely Mezzo and Essence.

Location of The Light City

The Light City is 9.1 km to Komtar, 1.5 km to the Penang Bridge, 9.5 km to the Second Penang Bridge and 10.8 km to the Penang International Airport.

Traffic situation at The Light City

The Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway is busy for much of the day. To cater to the impending traffic with the completion of The Light City, a new dedicated interchange is being constructed to provide direct access to it.
