The other Sunday, my wife and I were treated by The Light Hotel to their Sunday Best Seller À La Carte Buffet Dinner. This is held at the hotel's main dining outlet, Spice Brasserie. When I first heard the name, I expressed a bit of confusion, as I have not heard of an "à la carte buffet". It turns out that this is a semi-buffet, where you place an order for your main course from the menu (hence, à la carte), and select the rest of the items from the buffet, which has the appetizers, soups, bread rolls and desserts, along with free flow of soft drinks and their signature teh tarik.

The Light Hotel's Sunday Best Seller À La Carte Buffet Dinner is priced at only RM38.00+ per person, if you order the Chicken Chop, Fish & Chips, Mee Goreng, Fried Rice or Pasta as your main course, and an additional RM15.00 if you select a beef or lamb item. There is a 6% GST applicable.

Sunday Best Seller À La Carte Buffet Food Review

My wife and I had the pleasure of reviewing the Sunday Best Seller À La Carte Buffet the other Sunday. The chef has kindly prepared each of the main course items for us to try, one by one, to give us an idea of what is available. I am amazed that they were able to provide a steak at just RM38 plus an additional RM15. To be it was very good deal. But without having to pay that extra, I found that I absolutely loved the Mee Goreng.

Of course there was more food than we could consume. Not wanting to let anything go to waste, we asked the restaurant to pack our leftovers (I am not shy about that). As such, I was able to continue enjoying the delicious food on the subsequent days!
