The Royale Bintang (GPS: 5.416862, 100.343910), now known as
Royale Chulan Penang, is a hotel on
Weld Quay, in
George Town, Penang. It occupies the former
Boustead Building (at 1 Weld Quay) and
Schmidt & Küstermann Building (2 Weld Quay) on the waterfront. These have been restored and readapted for present-day use.
The Royale Bintang Penang is located within the core zone of the George Town UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is within easy walking distance to heritage sites such as the Queen Victoria Clocktower and Fort Cornwallis, among others. The hotel offers 179 rooms. The rooms available are Superior, Deluxe, Junior Suite, Corner Suite, Family Suite, Studio Suite, Executive Suite, Deluxe Suite, Penang Suite, Premiere Suite and Royal Suite.
There are five eateries at The Royal Bintang namely Sri Tanjung Cafe, Tea Room, Heritage Lounge, The Spice and Poolside Bar. The hotel has a swimming pool, a gym and a spa. It also has meeting and conference facilities as well as a banquet hall which can be used for wedding banquets as well as corporate events, annual dinners and seminars.

You can take
Rapid Penang CAT. The
Weld Quay Bus Terminal is just a short walking distance away. From there you can get almost all the buses that ply Penang Island.
