Visit to TOP Boutique Aquarium
6 November, 2018
My wife and I enjoyed a fun outing at the TOP Boutique Aquarium. We were there at the invitation of The TOP. We have heard of the aquarium and have looked forward to visiting it. When we visited The TOP for the first time, the aquarium was not opened yet, so this was the first time we get to enjoy it.
TOP Boutique Aquarium was opened by then Chief Minister of Penang, the Right Honourable Lim Guan Eng, on 11 February, 2018. It is divided into various sections. The first section has a Penang pre-war house theme, showing various tropical fish in tanks that mimic scenes from a Straits prehouse townhouse. This is followed by tanks of luminous tropical fish. There is also a gallery showing the fish of mangrove swamp, and two section where you can crawl under the tank to emerge in a glass hemisphere surrounded by the fish.
I am quite surprised that the aquarium is bigger than I had expected. There are so many galleries packed in this aquarium. Moreover, it is very well kept, with the glass tanks well maintained, without any smudges. Let me take you on a photo tour now.

About this website
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
