Transformers Street Art, Esplanade (30 July 2015)


Transformers Street Art is an art installation at the Esplanade in George Town, Penang. The installation runs from 19 July until 17 September, 2014. The event is made possible via an RM1.1 million funding from the state government, with the support of Penang Global Tourism and Penang Island City Council.

Transformer Street Art comprises a series of murals created by the artists from The One Academy Penang. The highlight of the installation are the gigantic Transformers. At night, from 7:30 pm to 12:00 midnight, there is a Light and Sound display, where the giant figures are bathed in multicoloured lights to the accompaniment of music. High-power beams are also flashed onto the City Hall and Town Hall.
