Utusan Malaysia (GPS: 5.42081, 100.33177), in Jawi script اوتوسن مليسيا, is a Malay-language newspaper in Malaysia. Its Penang bureau is located on Argyll Road. In addition to publishing the daily broadsheet, Utusan Malaysia also publishes Minguan Malaysia, Kosmo!, and Kosmo! Ahad.
Utusan Malaysia was first published in 1939. It was founded by Yusof Ishak, who became the first President of Singapore, and was first published at Queens Street in Singapore. It was originally known as Utusan Melayu, and was published in the Jawi script. Publication was temporarily suspected during the Japanese Occupation. In 1945 Utusan Melayu relocated its main bureau to Cecil Street, and in 1959, it moved again, to Jalan Chan Sow Lin in Kuala Lumpur.
In 1961, Utusan Melayu was acquired by the United Malays National Organisation, or UMNO. Since then, it has become the mouthpiece of UMNO. The first Utusan Malaysia, which is the version of Utusan Melayu in the romanised script, was published on 1 September, 1967. The online version of Utusan Malaysia was published in 1997.

About this website
Dear visitor, thank you so much for reading this page. My name is Timothy Tye and my hobby is to find out about places, write about them and share the information with you on this website. I have been writing this site since 5 January 2003. Originally (from 2003 until 2009, the site was called AsiaExplorers. I changed the name to Penang Travel Tips in 2009, even though I describe more than just Penang but everywhere I go (I often need to tell people that "Penang Travel Tips" is not just information about Penang, but information written in Penang), especially places in Malaysia and Singapore, and in all the years since 2003, I have described over 20,000 places.
While I try my best to provide you information as accurate as I can get it to be, I do apologize for any errors and for outdated information which I am unaware. Nevertheless, I hope that what I have described here will be useful to you.
