Hưng Yên, Vietnam



Hưng Yên is a city within the Red River Delta and the Hanoi metropolitan area. It is on the northern bank of the Red River, about 60 km from downtown Hanoi. It covers 46.8 sq km and has a populaiton of 123,000 people (2011 estimate).

While the city itself has nothing much to offer, it is the site of Pho Hien, the ancient port city and today a major tourist destination within the outskirts of Hanoi.

The specialty of Hưng Yên is longan (Dimocarpus longan).
