Wag & Romp Cafe (GPS: 5.43832, 100.30788) is a dog-friendly café in Pulau Tikus, Penang. It is located on Kelawei Road, within the compound of Fluffy Dogs R Us pet supply shop. Originally an open-air cafe that offers patrons alfresco dining with pets, the cafe underwent a renovation recently to offer air-conditioned comfort to diners.

At Wag & Romp Cafe, diners get to play with the cafe's many pedigree dogs. There are presently twelve breeds of dogs at Wag & Romp Cafe namely the Golden Retriever, Doberman, Beagle, Afghan Hound, Poodle, Whippet, Pekingese, Dachshund, Corgi, Pomeranian, Chihuahua and the Siberian Husky. Diners are free to pat and play with the dogs, which are allowed into the cafe area in shifts, giving them time off in their kennel to rest. Diners are also allowed to bring their dogs into their cafe, as long as their pets have undergone the necessary vaccination and are wearing pet diapers, to prevent them soiling the premises.

Wag & Romp Cafe serves from a limited menu, to ensure that the small staff does not overwhelm themselves and be able to provide good service to the diners and care to the roaming pets. Items on the menu include Waffle with Ice Cream (RM13.00), Spicy Spaghetti Aglio e Olio (RM18.00), Chicken Nuggets (RM12.00), Fries & Wedges (RM10.00), and the Cake of the Day (RM13.00). During our recent visit, my wife and I enjoyed the Spaghetti and the Waffle.

As for the beverages, the signature item at Wag & Romp is their Rose Latte, which is caffè latte with a sprinkling of rose petal bits. It has a wonderful aroma (though I had trouble sleeping every time I take coffee so late in the evening!)
