Wat Rajchaphohong (GPS: 5.42833, 100.5108; Thai: วัดราชโพธิหงษ์, Chinese: 拉薩保豐暹樾; Penang Hokkien: La1sat1 Po1hong1 Siam33 Wat3), also written Wat Rajaphojong, is a Thai Buddhist Temple in
Penanti, in
Bukit Mertajam, Penang. (Localities in this rural area is often fluid, as in addition to Penanti, the area is also considered part of
Ara Kuda.) It is located off Jalan Ara Kuda (State Route P119). The temple began in 1931 where it developed within a Siamese settlement.

Dewan Dharmasala, Wat Rajchaphohong
The Dharmasala Hall, or Dewan Dharmasala, is one of the main buildings of the temple. It was officially opened by the Chief Minister of Penang Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon on 9 June, 2001. Installed on the far end of the wall are three Buddha images. All along the walls are murals depicting various scenes from Buddhist legends.

How to go to Wat Rajchaphohong
Take the
Butterworth-Kulim Expressway to Exit 1505 (Tasik Mengkuang Interchange). Exiting the expressway, turn left towards Penanti. At the next T-junction, turn right in the direction of Tasek Gelugor/Lunas. This is State Route P119 (Jalan Ara Kuda). Go along this road. You will see a sign for Kg. Telok Wang. Continue on for a short distance and you will arrive at Wat Rajchaphohong on your left.
