Wonderfood's Handmade Cendol

Wonderfood's Handmade CendolThe Wonderfood handmade Cendol (24 December 2015)

If you follow me on Facebook, you will recognize this table, which is where I usually photograph the homecooked dishes that my wife makes. But the cendol you see here is not homecooked, but handmade by my friend Sean Lau. Sean is the principal owner of the Wonderfood Museum Penang, and on my table today is the cendol that he and his artisans created.

As with most of the food you will see at his museum, the cendol was modelled after an actual bowl of cendol. When I asked him which stall he bought the cendol, he didn't know (he is from Taiping, by the way), he simply sent one of his workers out to get cendol, and they brought him the cendol. This was the night before I came over to his museum and brought home one of two bowls of cendol that his artists manage to create over night. I am a bit surprised that they able to create the cendol taking so little time.
