We have visited Woodlands many times, though I do not always write about it. Nevertheless, we tried the pudina paratha and baigen bartha last night. It was very good, so I decided to add them to the page. The pudina paratha is the flatbread stuffed with mint. The baigen bartha is a dip made with brinjal. Both are excellent.

6 September, 2014: On our latest visit to Woodlands, we ordered the kuzli paniyaram, the channai battura, the mixed vegetable uttappam and the appam. The channai battura is our usual "staple" for most visits. The rest we are trying out for the first time. The kuzli paniyaram is an Indian snack that can be sweet or savoury. We were given the savoury version which is served with Indian coconut sambal. It is deep-fried batter orf mixed sauted onions and green chillies. The taste is great.
We also had the appam, which we also enjoyed. This is similar to the local apom, and is served with dhal and butter milk. The mixed vegetable uttappam was not to much to our liking.

Woodlands' Indian Candies
Woodlands Vegetarian Restaurant is one of the places where you get to enjoy a wide variety of absolutely sweet Indian candies. I have had these when I visited India, but it's nice to find them here in Penang.

We managed to take a photo of the menu, so that in future, we can refer to it at home and make our selection before going there.
