Zi Zai Restaurant, famous for its Penang homecooked food, is presently having a promotion called Meal For Five. This meal for 5 persons comprising 6 dishes, namely Telur Hancur (Chung Ling Scrambled Egg), Whole Fish in Three Flavours, Steamed Minced Pork, Stir-fried Sambal Kangkung, Granny Fried Chicken and Assam Prawns. The normal price is RM128, but during the promotion, which is only on weekdays, it is available for jut RM98.

"Meal For Five" showcases the best of local homecooked food that you could find in many Penang Chinese households, and are sure to bring back fond memories for many. In our present busy worklife, with both parents working, such homecooked dishes are often prepared by the grandmothers, who are increasingly elderly and frail. So it falls on restaurants like Zi Zai to bring back the nostalgic taste.

My wife and I had the pleasure of taste testing the Meal For Five. I love it, and am happy to collaborate with Chef Hock Chai to add Meal For Five as a future prize in my NEVER TRY NEVER KNOW contest.

The RM98 weekday promotion will run until 30 April. Date of the NEVER TRY NEVER KNOW contest to be announced on the day of contest itself.
