Hospital Langkawi (GPS: 6.32479, 99.79838) is the main government hospital on Langkawi. It is located on Jalan Padang Matsirat in Bukit Tekoh, about 7km from Kuah and 10 km from Langkawi International Airport. This is the only hospital on the island, apart from the private and public health clinics.
Patients who are going to Hospital Langkawi for the first time are to bring along their IC or passport, and certified letter from employer if they are working in the public or private sector. They are also to furnish their address and provide reference letter from medical officer.
The history of Hospital Langkawi goes back to 1915, when the first hospital was built in Kuah. The present hospital complex, which covers 53 hectares, was completed in 1995 at a cost of RM72 million. It was officiated by the late Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah on 22 February, 2002.
Visiting hours at Hospital Langkawi is 12:30pm to 2:00pm and 4:30pm to 7:30pm every day, including public holidays.
